Congratulations to the class of 2005 who have completed exams.

Special Needs Assistant/Childcare Module - FETAC Certificate Level 5
September 2005 will see the launch of the Special Needs Assistant module.
The Programme entitled "Caring for Children with Additional Needs" is specifically designed for those wishing to gain a recognised qualification for working as a Special Needs Assistant in the primary and secondary education sector.
It is being offered in conjunction with Communications, Work-Experience and Computers to give participants essential skills for the workplace.

Business Studies - FETAC Certificate Level 5
This course offers free tuition to post-leaving cert students and adults wishing to learn new skills or become computer literate to meet the skills shortage in the present employment climate.
Candidates on this Business Studies/Computer course are given the option of taking a maximum of 8 modules.
Time is also a flexible factor - there is an option of taking the course as a full-time student (9.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.) approx or on a part-time basis (9.30 a.m. to 1.10 p.m.) approx
The Course can be taken over a
period of one year and offers:
* Excellent job opportunities
* Access to further study and training
* A qualification recognized nationally and in the EU
* Grant-Aid (Subject to means testing)
* A Certificate from NCVA/FETAC- Level 2 (or a Record of
Achievement for every successful module completed).

Database Methods Spreadsheet Methods Text Production Word Processing Communications Work Experience Business Administration Manual and Computerized Accounts SNA
2004 Graduation
To date the response to the course is very positive and many adults have availed of the opportunity to learn new skills and update their existing skills.
Candidates have the opportunity to take a minimum of two weeks work experience in a business area e.g. Administration department in County Council Offices, Hospitals, Hotels and Accountants/Insurance Offices etc.
The feedback and employment opportunities have been very
favourable.

Evening classes are run each Autumn and Spring.
Pottery, yoga, batik, painting, Patchwork, Irish, decorative metalwork, woodcraft and computer classes were on offer in previous years and there is always a keen demand for places.
